Secret Creek Spinnerbaits

We have had some exceptional results in the last couple of months. Our spinnerbaits are in real demand at the moment which has accomplished at least one of our goals when we started Secret Creek Lures. The Bass have been firing on spinnerbaits but we have been equally impressed with the lads fishing for Murray Cod on our lures. A special thanks to all the blokes up in the Northern parts of NSW for spreading the word about how well spinnerbaits work on cod. Tub Gainey at Ashford should be "The Man" everyone should get to know when it comes to chasing cod. He is a great ambassador for these fish, "Play with the kids, put 'em back and let's have a beer" so to speak. Every day with Tub is a great day and I hope everyone who visits this site has the opportunity to fish with someone similar. The Severn River is probably my favourite fishing spot but I only get to fish it once or twice a year. If you want to catch your first cod I would highly recommend fishing one of the rivers in this area and whether you use surface, diving, plastic or spinnerbait I'm sure if you try hard enough you will get a fish or two. But beware to those who want to set line the river. The locals up that way know what they have so behave and you will have no problem.

Flathead Fishin'

Had a quick fish this afternoon with Andrew "Boo" Taylor for flathead in Newcastle Harbour. Boo is a keen fisherman but has in the past been a bit unsuccessful. He had never caught flathead on lures before but after today I think that has changed forever. Boo managed 6 flathead on Secret Creek Spin Jigs and soft plastics. We used Pink squidgies, bloodworm Berkely Bass Minnows and Chartreuse Berkely Gulps and all caught fish. I pity Andrews bank account now as I am sure he is about to spend thousands on his lure and plastic collection and updating his rods and reels. All fishermen like a good spending spree and Andrew's missus is a pretty good sport, I think we will see how good a sport she is in the coming weeks.

Secret Creek Message Board Prizes

We are trying to get our message board up and running and are offering some prizes to encourage its use. Hopefully we will get enough members so we can all have a good chat and maybe share some techniques that work for us. All the details are posted on the message board. We only have 6 or 7 registered users so if you join the odds are fairly good for your name to be drawn for a prize. It does not cost anything so why not have a go?
